This beginning birding class is designed for people who have always wanted to learn about birdwatching and the birds coming to their own yards. No experience necessary! We'll review Field guides, optics, birding ethics, habitats, and even a little taxomony. We have roughly 250 different species of birds right here in Santa Clara County, but we will focus on the birds that we find in our backyards and neighborhoods. This class includes two weekend morning bird walks so we can put our new knowledge into action. All birding levels are welcome. |

The recovery efforts to save the California Condor are nothing less than remarkable. This pre-historic vulture once found throughout North America was reduced down to only 27 birds by 1987. Because of extreme efforts to save the species there are now over 350 Condors living today! This workshop and field trip is being held in partnership with TRAILSLOGGER's. Located in downtown Campbell, Trailslogger carries all the latest outdoor gear. The workshop includes an evening lecture at Trailsloggers held in downtown Campbell to learn about the California Condor, the recovery efforts to save the species and how you can identify them yourself in the field. We'll then head to Big Sur on Saturday May 8 to go find the condors now living in the area. Class fee does not include carpool. |
